At All Saints’ we recognize that ICT is a vital skill for all children. At All Saints’ all children have access to a state of the art air conditioned ICT suite. Children have access to a wide variety of software which enables them to develop skills in:
- control
- graphics
- to use the Internet
- multimedia
- to interpret data
- word processing
All Saints’ also provides internet based software that enables parents and children to continue school work at home.
As the children are working teachers can see all the children’s work, freeze screens or provide immediate support to those who are struggling. It enables up to the date ICT suite.
At All Saints we always seek to provide excellent provision. We buy back: bespoke technical support, specialised webpage design companies and specific educational training providers. One of these outside agencies support a variety of classes in presenting multi media work such as the Year 6 guided tour (a clip of which is available on the home page of this website).
Each class has an Interactive Whiteboard (IWB) which is used as a teaching tool and provides images which stimulate imagination and learning.
Other uses of ICT include:
- Roamers which enable children to programme and control objects
- Listening centres
- Microphones so children can record sound onto electrical work e.g. talking stories.
What do stakeholders say about the level of attainment in ICT at All Saints’?
“The level of the ICT skills of all the children at All Saints’ is exceptional. The work produced and provision is of outstanding quality.” D. Copley MGL April 2008.
