Throughout 2024, the All Saints’ Ethos Governors, led by our Chair of Governors, Mr. Bailey, worked closely with pupils, staff, parents, and fellow Governors to gather the voices, thoughts, and feelings of our whole school community. Their aim was to shape and define what we mean by The All Saints’ Way.

Following a period of rich consultation, thoughtful discussion, and careful reflection, our Ethos Governors developed a theologically rooted vision that reflects who we are and what we aspire to be as a school.

This vision was officially launched during Church Week in January 2025, and we invite everyone to embrace it wholeheartedly.

We believe it speaks to the heart of our community—today and for the future—guiding us as we grow, thrive, and flourish together for years to come.

Harvest celebrations typically mark the end of our Church Week in October. It’s a special time when children share their learning with families during a service at All Saints’ Church.

As a school, we give generously each year to The Pantry—our local Marple foodbank run by volunteers from All Saints’ Church.

Our Ethos Leaders plays a hands-on role by carrying the donations down to the Connect Centre in Marple and helping to organise them, showing our commitment to supporting those in need within our community.

CHRISTMAS

Christmas is a truly special time in our school calendar, filled with joy, celebration, and meaning.

Our Early Years and Key Stage 1 children come together for a beautifully memorable Nativity held at All Saints’ Church. This much-loved event is always a night to remember and cherish—with the occasional appearance of a real donkey to greet guests on arrival! Uniquely written and crafted each year, our Nativity is bespoke to All Saints’, weaving in our school vision and values throughout the performance.

For our Key Stage 2 children and their families, we host a traditional Carol Service. Through thoughtful readings, heartfelt prayers, and uplifting singing, we bring the Christmas story to life. A cherished tradition is closing the service with The All Saints’ Medley, complete with balloons, as we joyfully celebrate the birth of Jesus together.

Joy fills the air as we end the year with laughter, smiles, and a deep sense of community at our Christmas services.

EASTER

Our Key Stage 2 Easter Experience, led by the wonderful team at All Saints’ Church, offers a truly immersive opportunity to engage with the Easter story in a powerful and memorable way. Thanks to the creativity and dedication of our church leaders, the space is transformed to help us reflect deeply on the greatest story ever told.

This year, we were also treated to a fantastic Easter Musical performed by Audacious Churches. With powerful storytelling and incredibly catchy rap songs, it was a moving and energetic way to experience the message of Easter—one that left a lasting impression on us all.

All children left at Easter with a Fair Trade Easter egg (voted for by our Pupil Parliament!).

Worship is at the heart of our school life at All Saints’. It brings our community together, grounds us in our Christian values, and offers space for reflection, learning, and spiritual growth. Our collective worship follows a rich and varied weekly pattern:

Monday – Whole School Worship (9:05am)
Led by our Co-Headteacher, Mrs. Noble, or visiting clergy from Churches Together Marple, this worship focuses on our half-termly Christian value.
Tuesday – Whole School Worship (2:50pm)
Led by our Ethos Group alongside Mrs. Holton, Church and Families Worker from All Saints’ Church, this worship is inspired by Picture News, helping children connect faith with current issues.
Wednesday – Whole School Songs of Worship (9:05am)
A joyful time of singing together, celebrating faith through music.
Thursday – Class Collective Worship
A time for smaller, focused reflection on themes such as anti-racism, world religious festivals, and charitable work, often linking to global awareness.
Friday – Whole School Celebration Worship (9:05am)
Led by our Co-Headteacher, Mrs. Morton, and our Year 4 class, we celebrate achievements with certificates and awards, including the Christian Values Award and Curriculum Stars..

Our Christian Values

Each half term, our collective worship centres around a specific Christian value:

As we light the All Saints’ candle at the start of worship, the All Saints’ Cross is also changed each half term to reflect the current Christian value.

A Reflective Approach: Windows, Mirrors, and Doors

Our worship is designed to be inclusive, invitational, and inspirational, following the Windows, Mirrors, and Doors framework:
Windows – Opening up to the wider world, helping children appreciate creation, understand global issues, and experience awe and wonder at God’s work.
Mirrors – Reflecting inwardly to explore identity, personal values, and developing empathy and compassion.
Doors – Encouraging children to take action, inspired by what they’ve seen, heard, or felt—to live out their faith and values in meaningful ways.

Prayer at All Saints’

Prayer is an integral part of our worship. Children are invited to participate actively, often coming to the front to share what is on their hearts. We use the NOWs, WOWs, and OWs approach:
NOWs – Things happening in the present that we want to pray about
WOWs – Moments of awe, gratitude, and praise
OWs – Concerns, challenges, and people in need of comfort or help
This approach encourages children to express faith in a real and relevant way, nurturing a prayerful community where everyone’s voice is valued.

At All Saints’ C of E Primary School, our Ethos Leaders play a vital and valued role in nurturing the Christian character of our school. Being an Ethos Leader is a prestigeous role at All Saints' and we often have up to 50 KS2 children who sign up to carryout this role each year!

Every Monday, our Ethos Leaders meet during lunchtime with Mrs. Holton (Church and Families Worker from All Saints’ Church) to thoughtfully prepare for the week’s worship.
Each Tuesday, they lead whole-school worship, confidently guiding us in reflection and prayer.
On Fridays, members of the Ethos Team help to run our Prayer Space during Fun Friday on the KS2 playground—a calm and welcoming space for children to pause and connect with God.

Our Ethos Leaders are enthusiastic, dedicated, and incredibly proud of the part they play in making our school the best church school it can be. They truly bring our Christian vision, values, and ethos to life in everything they do.

We also take part in Ethos Conferences with other Church schools across the North West (Bishop Bridgman Church of England School). These gatherings inspire our pupils to think deeply about their faith and leadership, encouraging them to bring fresh ideas back to school.

As Christian role models, our Ethos Group lead by example, helping others to understand and live out our school values. Guided by the words of Jesus, “Love your neighbour as yourself” (Mark 12:31), they work to build a school community rooted in kindness, service and faith.

Ofsted recognised the passion of our Young Leaders—from Year 6 Ethos Leaders and Reception Buddies to our Pupil Parliament, Head Girl and Head Boy, Restorative Ambassadors, and Sports Ambassadors. Our children genuinely want to lead, help, care, and make a difference in the lives of others—shaping a brighter path for all.

At All Saints’ C of E Primary School, we are proud to take part in the Archbishop of York Young Leaders Award—a fully resourced programme that supports leadership, character education, and personal development.

Key Stage 1 – Gracie’s Journey
In KS1, pupils follow the story of Gracie, a young girl learning to become a leader. Through her journey, children explore key values such as kindness, perseverance, teamwork, and taking action. They reflect on their own skills and how they can make a difference in their local community by developing habits of helping others.

Key Stage 2 – Archie’s Adventure
In KS2, pupils meet Archie, who learns he can "be the change he wants to see" in the world around him. The programme encourages children to grow in confidence and explore what it means to be a leader. They investigate inspirational leaders, identify needs in their local, national, and global communities, and take meaningful action to help others.

Living Out Leadership in the Community
At All Saints’, our Year 1 and Year 5 classes take part in the Young Leaders Award. As part of their leadership journey, pupils have visited Rushes Care Home in Marple and taken part in community outreach through the Luncheon Club, building valuable connections with elderly residents. The joy and warmth shared between generations has been truly heartwarming to witness.

In addition, our children complete personal Acts of Kindness within the local community—whether it’s helping a neighbour, tidying up, or simply spreading joy. Families share these acts on Tapestry, giving us a glimpse into the love, patience, and compassion our children demonstrate every day.

At All Saints’ C of E Primary School, we believe in making a real difference—not just within our school, but in our wider community and beyond. We are proud to partner with PIE – Pursuing Individual Excellence, Stockport, throughout the year as part of our commitment to charitable action and community service.

Giving at Christmas
Christmas is an especially busy and meaningful time. One of our most heartwarming initiatives is our Evening of Giving, where staff, pupils and families come together to pack food parcels, warm bags, and activity packs for those in our school community who may need a little extra support. It’s a powerful reminder of how fortunate we are—and how important it is to show kindness, respect, and generosity.

Helping All Year Round
Our commitment to community doesn’t stop at Christmas. We work tirelessly to connect with local charities and support children and families who may be experiencing financial hardship or poverty. Whether it’s providing beds, ensuring no child goes without on their birthday, or offering help during challenging times, we strive to ensure that no one in our school family is left behind.

Charities and Causes We Support
We regularly support a wide range of causes that are close to our hearts, including:

Local foodbanks and family support charities
Epilepsy, Diabetes, and Cystic Fibrosis awareness campaigns
Environmental initiatives such as recycling, reducing waste, and reusing resources
Projects focused on homelessness, wildlife protection, and sustainability

Through these partnerships, we aim to bring joyfulness and practical help to those who need it most.

Agents of Change
Discussions in Collective Worship around issues like poverty, climate change, and global responsibility have inspired many of our children to become agents of change. We are continually amazed by their courageous determination to take action—whether it’s raising awareness, fundraising or leading initiatives that make our world a better place.

At All Saints’, we are committed to curiosity, compassion, and living out our Christian values through action. Our pupils are passionate about helping others and playing their part in building a brighter, fairer future for everyone.

Soul Children Marple is a vibrant soul choir bringing children from Reception to Year 6 together to sing, worship, and grow in faith.

Part of the Flourish Project linked to the Church of England, the choir nurtures spirituality, confidence and community through meaningful songs about kindness, love, and Easter.

Meeting weekly in before- and lunchtime clubs, the choir spreads joy both in school and the local community—performing at care homes, leading worship services, and sharing uplifting music that connects generations.

Everyone is welcome, regardless of skill or confidence, making the choir a supportive family where every child feels valued.

With exciting plans for future performances and festivals, Soul Children Marple is a place where children’s voices shine, faith deepens, and lifelong memories are made.

We’re also blessed to welcome a variety of local clergy who lead our Monday Collective Worship sessions. These include Reverend Timothy Hupfield from St. Martin’s, Marple, Andrew Tawn from St. Thomas’ Church, Mellor, and Deacon Jude Laycock from The Ridge Methodist Church.

Hearing from different voices and traditions makes a real difference for our children. It helps them experience the Good News of Jesus in fresh and meaningful ways, and shows them how the Bible continues to shape and guide our everyday lives. Through these visits, we’re inspired to walk in His footsteps and grow in faith together.

Church Week 2025was a wonderful success, bringing joy and energy to everyone involved. It was a fantastic way to kickstart the new year, filled with fun, interactive and engaging activities that both children and volunteers thoroughly enjoyed.

We are incredibly fortunate to have such a strong partnership between the Church and the school. This collaboration allows us to 'Discover God' together and develop our spirituality (developing relationships with ourselves, others, the world and God, being imaginative and having space and time to reflect and grow as individuals).

A big thank you to all the volunteers (approximately 40!), children, and everyone who made Church Week 2025 so special and such as highlight of the year as always. We look forward to continuing this journey of faith and service together throughout the year!

We are honoured to regularly welcome Bishop Sam of Stockport to All Saints’.

During his visits, he takes part in a Q&A session with our Ethos Class Representatives, leads Collective Worship, and enjoys a personal school tour led by our Head Girl and Head Boy. Our Ethos Leaders also proudly present their latest work and reflections.

It is always a joy to have Bishop Sam with us. We were especially delighted when he shared how he remembers All Saints' Church of England Primary School as a:

"Place of JOY!"

His presence, encouragement, wisdom are humour are deeply valued by our whole school community.

We’re excited to be partnering with TLG (Transforming Lives for Good), a national Christian children’s charity that equips churches to bring hope and a brighter future to young people.

In 2024–2025, we’ve launched TLG in collaboration with All Saints' Church, and we’re thrilled that five children are currently being supported each week by caring members of the congregation.

This partnership is already making a meaningful difference—helping children to grow spiritually, build trusting relationships and feel supported by a local community that truly cares.

At All Saints', Remembrance Day is a deeply significant occasion. Each year, we take time as a school community to reflect on the sacrifices made by those who came before us.

Our Year 6 teacher, Mr. McShane, is a passionate advocate for keeping the memory and lessons of the past alive. Through his dedication, our children gain a deeper understanding of history and a heartfelt appreciation for the freedoms we enjoy today.

Remembrance Day is always a poignant time in school. It’s a moment where the maturity of our children truly shines, as they show great respect, empathy and thoughtfulness in their reflections and commemorations. We are proud to nurture a spirit of gratitude and remembrance in the next generation.

At All Saints’, we are truly blessed to share a close and meaningful partnership with St. George’s C of E Primary School in Hyde. From supportive Headteacher meetings to collaborative Ethos Leader sessions, our schools—though different in many ways—are united in a shared mission: to “Love our neighbour.”

St. George’s school vision, “Love to Learn and Learn to Love,” along with the guiding words of 1 Corinthians 16:14—“Let all that you do be done in love”—resonates deeply with us at All Saints’. These values are not only part of our collective ethos, but they also inspire the way we nurture our children to grow in love, respect and understanding.

Our link with St. George’s is particularly enriching for our children. With many pupils at St. George’s coming from a Muslim background, it opens up powerful opportunities for learning about faith, culture and the many things we share in common. For our predominantly White British school community, this connection is a meaningful way to celebrate diversity and develop mutual respect.

Whether we are meeting informally, sharing worship, or joining together for special church and school events, every encounter with St. George’s is special. These moments of togetherness remind us of the beauty of connection, understanding, and unity across communities.

Every Friday during Fun Friday, we are joined by Hev Taylor and Kim Irvine from All Saints' Church, who help create a special Prayer Space in school alongside some of our Ethos Leaders.

Whether it's set up under a cosy tent in the winter or in our beautiful Spirituality Garden in the summer, this space offers a precious moment in the week to pause, reflect, connect, chat, pray or get involved in Godly play.

It’s a time where children can slow down, think about their feelings, and explore their spirituality in a peaceful and welcoming environment. One of the most heartwarming aspects is seeing our older children guide the younger ones—helping them to connect with themselves and discover the value of quiet reflection.

These moments, though simple, are powerful. They reflect the strong bond between our school and church, and the importance we place on spiritual growth and emotional well-being for all our children.

At All Saints’, we are proud to have strong and active links with Chester Diocese, who support us in nurturing a school community that is loving in relationships, ambitious in aspirations, and bold in actions.

Through the continued guidance, training and support of the Chester Diocese team, we strive to create an educational environment where both children and adults can flourish. Grounded in a distinctive, theologically rooted Christian vision, our aim is for every child to experience life in all its fullness. We seek to ensure that every individual is recognised, valued, and encouraged to achieve their very best—knowing that each person is wonderfully made and uniquely gifted.

We wholeheartedly embrace the Church of England’s vision for education—one that is “deeply Christian, serving the common good of the whole community.”

A Shared Vision

As a Church school, we are committed to the following Church of England statement, which guides all Church schools within the Diocese:

“Recognising its historic foundation, the school will preserve and develop its religious character in accordance with the principles of the Church of England and in partnership with the churches at parish and diocesan level. The school aims to serve its community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. It encourages an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith and promotes Christian values through the experience it offers to all its pupils.”

Living Our Christian Ethos

Our RE & Worldviews Lead, Collective Worship Lead, and Pastoral Learning Mentor (championing support for disadvantaged and vulnerable pupils) attend regular training and CPD through the Diocese to ensure we remain faithful and consistent in delivering education inspired by Christian values.

Each year, we also welcome Early Career Teachers (ECTs) to All Saints' as part of their Chester Diocese training. Their visit includes exploring our school and church, where they learn about spirituality and what it means to live and teach in a faith-led setting.

A recent highlight of our diocesan connection was a visit from Messy Church founder Lucy Moore, who came to speak with us about The All Saints’ Way and our next steps as a Church school committed to excellence.

During the challenges of the Covid pandemic, when indoor gatherings were restricted, our school community found a way to come together through faith and creativity. Church Week became the launchpad for a very special project: the creation of our outdoor Spirituality Garden—a collaborative effort between our school, church volunteers, and the wider community.

What began as a “grand design” quickly became a peaceful haven—somewhere to be still, calm, and contemplative. Today, the Spirituality Garden is a cherished space on our school grounds where children and adults alike can reflect, pray, or simply enjoy the beauty of nature.

Our monthly Gardening Club, led by Mrs. Clayton and Mrs. Holton from All Saints’ Church, plays a vital role in keeping this space blooming and vibrant. It’s more than just a club—it’s a joyful time of connection. Parents, grandparents, and even younger siblings are warmly invited to join in this after-school activity, where we appreciate the awe and wonder of God’s creation together.

Whether planting flowers, sharing stories, or enjoying a quiet moment under the sky, the Spirituality Garden continues to grow as a symbol of our faith, community spirit and shared hope.

Anti- Racist school

In 2024–2025, All Saints’ was proud to be part of the Stockport pilot ‘Anti-Racism Project’, a transformative initiative that has helped us strengthen our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion across the whole school.

As a predominantly White British school, we recognise the importance—and responsibility—of preparing our children for life in a diverse society. Through this project, we’ve been empowered to reflect on and enrich our curriculum, ensuring it is representative, inclusive, and grounded in the belief that difference should be celebrated.

Working closely with Ethnic Diversity Services in Stockport, we’ve been inspired to deliver a culturally inclusive approach to education, particularly through our RE and Worldviews curriculum and our Collective Worship programme. These now include a stronger focus on world religions, global perspectives, and varied cultural beliefs and practices.

Throughout the school year, our children engage with key religious and cultural events such as Black History Month, Romany Gypsy and Traveller Month, Ramadan and many more. These opportunities help our pupils build empathy, understanding, and respect—key values at the heart of our Christian ethos.

Our involvement in this important work is not a one-off; it’s a growing commitment to make All Saints’ a place where every child feels seen, heard, and valued—a place where we truly love our neighbour.
